As the founder of the Pageant Voices Alliance (PVA), I’ve seen firsthand how many participants struggle with questions like, “Why am I really doing this?” or worse, “What happens after the pageant is over?” It’s easy to get swept up in the glitz and glamor, but that’s not what pageantry is truly about. At its core, pageantry is meant to inspire personal growth, foster community service, and drive advocacy. It’s not just about the crown—it’s about using the platform to make a difference in the world and motivate others to do the same.

Understanding Real Advocacy
A lot of queens enter with big dreams to create change, but often feel lost when it comes to actually making that happen. Advocacy isn’t something that magically comes with a title. It’s a journey that involves truly understanding the issues you care about, making a plan, and consistently putting in the work. It’s not about one moment of recognition—it’s about long-term dedication to making a positive impact.

Navigating the Industry
Let’s be real—the pageant world can be tough. There are plenty of people out there who care more about profit than helping you grow. Fake groomers, shady designers, and other opportunists can easily pull you off track. That’s why having a support system of people who truly have your back is so important. When you’re surrounded by trustworthy mentors and peers, it’s easier to stay focused on your goals and not lose sight of why you started.

Staying True to Yourself
The competition, the crown, the pressure to fit a certain mold—it’s all very real. But the reason we participate in pageants should go beyond the surface. What the PVA Stands For
With these challenges in mind, I created the Pageant Voices Alliance to provide support and guidance to participants who want to make a lasting impact. PVA focuses on four key areas:

We bring together queens and titleholders to work on shared causes, share resources, and amplify each other’s efforts.

Training and Development
We offer opportunities to learn essential advocacy, leadership, and communication skills—everything you need to be an effective changemaker.

We encourage and support members to take the lead on community projects and initiatives that matter to them.

Mentorship
We connect experienced pageant participants with those just starting out, fostering a culture where we lift each other up and stay grounded in our purpose.
